Tips To Make The Best Brownies
Tip 1: Sift the cocoa powder because, at times, you will find that the powder is lumpy and caked together, making the batter have an uneven texture. Hence sift it all at once and keep the powder in an airtight container for future use.
Tip 2: Make sure you don’t overbake the brownies. Since all ovens have different settings, you may end up burning the brownies if you follow the timing per instruction. Hence check them after 15 minutes by poking a toothpick in the middle to see if any batter sticks to them.
Tip 3: If by chance you are planning to bake the brownies in a glass dish, then lower the temperature to 20°F. Although it will take longer for the dish to heat up, the glass retains heat for a longer period of time. Hence you may find that your brownies are still cooking even after being removed from the oven.
Substitutes
1. Vegan Brownies- If you want to make vegan brownies, then you can use flaxseed eggs as a replacement for raw eggs. All you have to do is mix 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed with 6 tablespoons of water. Then set it aside to let it thicken for 5 minutes.
2. Toppings- if you want to be adventurous, then you can always add dark chocolate or your favorite sugar-free biscuit on top.
3. Nut butter- you can always replace almond butter with peanut butter or even sunflower seed butter.
Storage
1.You can cover the brownie baking dish with aluminum foil and keep it at room temperature for a maximum of 5 days.
2. Slice up the brownies and keep them in a zip bag to store in the fridge for up to one week.
3. If you want to freeze the brownies, slice them up and store them in freezer bags. They will be edible for a month or so. But do make sure to defrost them correctly by keeping them in the fridge overnight before consumption.
